Amy manages the overall operations and educational activities of The Seed Farm's training program and market farm, and mentors the steward and enterprise farmers who cultivate plots on the incubator farm.
Amy came to The Seed Farm from northeastern Ohio, where she managed an organic vegetable farm and trained apprentices for three years. Prior to that, she worked on farms in eastern Massachusetts, advised farmers on natural resource issues as a conservation planner in central Massachusetts, and worked as the outreach coordinator and an instructor for the New Entry Sustainable Farming Project, a beginning farmer training non-profit organization.
Amy served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Chad and Madagascar, earned a B.A. in Biology from Brown University, and an M.Sc. in Agronomy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her favorite vegetable is the "Yummy" sweet pepper, and her favorite farm work is harvesting bunches of herbs. Amy loves skiing, biking, and backpacking, and she makes a mean minestrone soup.
