As Development Director, Brooke is passionate about cultivating community and the local food economy through sustainable farming initiatives. Brooke works on a variety of projects geared towards increasing awareness of The Seed Farm, including donor relations, grant research and writing, and event organization.
Brooke is an active member of the Lehigh Valley Food Policy Council, with a specific concentration in food waste and recovery. Prior to The Seed Farm, Brooke assisted with organizational development as program coordinator at the Nurture Nature Center, a science-based community center focused on local environmental issues. Brooke was a staff member of Buy Fresh Buy Local, where she assisted in research projects and grant programming to help support the Lehigh Valley local foods movement. Brooke also has some personal farming experience - she worked with TSF new farmer training graduate Sarah Edmonds at LaFarm: the Lafayette College Community Garden and Working Farm. She earned a B.A. in Anthropology and Sociology from Lafayette College and an M.A. in Environmental Policy Design from Lehigh University.
In her spare time, Brooke loves to teach yoga, spend time outdoors, and stand up paddle board. She resides in Easton, where she loves to walk around and eat her way through the city.
