Program Overview

New Farmer Training and Agricultural Business Incubation

The Seed Farm offers two main programs to meet the needs of new farmers who may not have grown up on farms and therefore lack access to land, training, and/or equipment:

 New Farmer Training

New and aspiring farmers are invited to come to our farm and receive hands-on training in all aspects of running an agricultural business. The Seed Farm's training opportunities cover production, set-up and management of infrastructure (greenhouse, high tunnel, irrigation system, etc.), equipment use and safety, direct and wholesale marketing, business plan creation, and more

 Farm To Fork Program

New farmers who can demonstrate adequate skills and solid business plans may launch their own farms on the incubator portion of the Seed Farm. Produce and market your own products, while having access to land, equipment and infrastructure at reduced rates. Incubator farmers will also receive continued guidance from experienced local farm mentors and Seed Farm staff.
